What time does the event start?

The 8KM run starts at 8:30 am. The 4KM run and the 4KM walk will start at 9:00 am.

What should I do when I arrive at Metcalfe Park?

Please check in at the registration tent with the QR code you received in your confirmation email. Please make sure you have this ready so our team can check you in and give you any fundraising bonuses you are eligible to receive.

What happens if it rains?

RBC Race for the Kids will go ahead rain or shine unless there is significant danger to participants because of lightning, storms or strong winds. Participants should be prepared for all weather conditions. We will notify you by text message if we need to cancel the event.

Is the course wheelchair & pram accessible?

Yes, this course is wheelchair and pram accessible.

Is the course dog friendly?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your dog to the 4km walk (not the run); please keep in mind that you are responsible for your dog's behaviour along the course. Please keep your dog on a lead at all times and clean up any mess it makes.

What is RBC Race for the Kids?

RBC Race for the Kids is Ronald McDonald House Charities annual family fun run which raises money for the House in Randwick. RBC Race for the Kids is a family festival and 8k & 4k family fun run, taking place at Melcalfe Park, Pyrmont on Sunday 30 July, 2023. People of all ages and abilities will join the race to help sick and injured children by walking, wheeling, jogging or running their way to the finish line. It will be a fun-filled day of music, entertainment, food, games, face painting and much more.

Teams

Can I register a team?

Yes, simply start your registration and when prompted select Create a Team. Then share your team page link with family and friends and encourage them to join!

Does everyone in the team have to fundraise?

We encourage all participants to fundraise once they register for RBC Race for the Kids, however it is not compulsory.

I want to create a Corporate or Community Team

The good news is you can! Simply register as you normally would, and when prompted select Create a Team. Then share your team page link with your colleagues and friends and encourage them to join!

Can I change my team name?

After a team has been created, to change the team name, the Team Captain will need to contact us at supporting.sydney@rmhc.org.au to update their details.

Fundraising

How much money do I need to raise and is it compulsory?

When registering for RBC Race for the Kids, we do encourage you to fundraise, however it is not compulsory. Everyone who registers will receive a FREE RBC Race for the Kids T-Shirt and everyone who raises $320 or more will receive the RBC Race for the Kids hat. Please note sizes are subject to availability.

How much of the money I raise will go to Ronald McDonald House Charities Sydney?

100% of the money raised goes directly to support the seriously ill and injured children and their families staying at Ronald McDonald House in Randwick.

Race Bibs, Welcome Pack & Start Line

Do I get a welcome pack?

All RBC Race for the Kids participants will recieve a bib number to wear. Everyone that registers will get a FREE RBC Race for the Kids T-shirt (please note sizes are subject to availability). Anyone who has raised $320 or more will get a RBC Race for the Kids hat.

What will be happening at the start line?

There will be some fun activities as well as a food and coffee truck where you can purchase a bite after the race. Water will be provided at the start line and along the course. There will also be toilets available at Metcalfe Park to use.

I am on Team RBC - do I get a T-Shirt?

Yes, All Team RBC participants will automatically get a T-Shirt which can be collected at the start line. Please note sizes are subject to availability. To reduce waste we are encouraging anyone who has taken part in RBC Race for the Kids before, to re-use their old t-shirts.
