The reward of working at the House

30 Mar 2021

Geoff is one of our incredible Homemaker Volunteers. Geoff does an awesome job of using his expertise to help keep our gardens maintained and tidy. We can’t put into words just how great of a help this is.

‘I get a great feeling at the end of each shift knowing that I have done something positive with my day. It is very rewarding to know that I have played a small part to assist the charity and help out the lives of the sick children and families staying in the home’ –Geoff (RMHCS Volunteer)

Geoff keeps volunteering because Ronald McDonald House Sydney is a very friendly environment to work in, a place where you always feel welcomed and valued. I have worked with and met some amazing people over the last year which help make it easy to come back.”

When our families drive in to RMHC Sydney for the first time and are facing an awful unknown, the gardens are one of the first things they see. It is because of volunteers like Geoff, generously giving their time, that our House is not just a house, but a warm and welcoming home from the very beginning for sick kids and their families.

Geoff says to anyone thinking about volunteering ‘Even just a few hours of volunteering a week can make such a huge difference in the lives of sick children and their families’.

Geoff is right! Geoff and all of our amazing volunteers make a truly beautiful difference every day. Thank you, Geoff for everything!
