Since your continued support means so much for our families who stay at the House, we would like to give you an update on what’s been happening in the House in the month of March!
We are so excited to have our corporate volunteers back into the House. Our families are so thankful to be enjoying a home cooked meal at the end of a busy day thanks to our Home for Dinner program. If you are interested in booking a corporate volunteering experience, click here.
Our families also had the opportunity to meet three Cronulla Sharks players - Josh Dugan, Matt Moylan and Corey Norman - who visited the House and spent an evening with the families. They even brought some delicious pizzas which the kids always love! The children loved meeting the footballers and we were really impressed at how well the guys cleaned up in the kitchen afterwards as well!
Our House wouldn’t be what it is today without our amazing volunteers. A sea of our blue army is back in the House and in our Family Rooms providing support to our families. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our House & Family Room programs and being able to have them back once more is wonderful!
During the last month we have said goodbye to some wonderful longer staying families. Although we are sad to say goodbye we also celebrate the fact that they are returning to their own homes and embracing their familiar surroundings, family, friends & beloved pets once more! Thank you for supporting our families by covering their nights at the House.
We don’t follow our family’s journeys once they leave the House, but it is always lovely to see them pop in for a visit if they are returning for a hospital appointment and to see how much their children have progressed and blossomed since going home!
Finally, thanks to our supporters, we are celebrating our 30th birthday! We are busy preparing our House for our 30th birthday celebrations and are looking forward to celebrating 30 years of providing a home away from home for families in need! None of the past 30 years would have been possible without wonderful supporters like you and for that we are truly grateful. THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR HOUSE A HOME AWAY FROM HOME.
